Dr. Leslie Flynn is a professor in STEM Education at the University of Iowa. She is a founder of STEM Innovator, a program to infuse innovation and entrepreneurial mindset into K-12 classrooms. The program provides tools to engage students in STEM entrepreneurship to explore and advance solutions to real-world issues of interest to students and their community. STEM Innovator incorporates the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Innovation Corp (I-Corp), Lean Methodology, United States Patent & Trademark Office's Invention and Intellectual Property resources, Design Thinking, Strengths Finder, and Community Partnerships into a STEM Innovator Canvas tool. STEM Innovator offers an online professional development program for K-12 teachers. Teachers will network across the country to advance their innovative classroom model. Teachers also have an opportunity to receive graduate credit and certified teachers may offer college credit to eligible high school students. Before coming to the University of Iowa Dr. Flynn was a high school science teacher and instructor of pre-service science teachers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
