IP and Invention: Global Challenges - Innovative Solutions

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Invention Challenge: This activity to familiarize teachers with the innovation process. Teachers will be expected to diagnose a global problem of current importance, brainstorm on ideas for a solution, create/design an invention, perform patent/trademark searches to see what is out there already in the marketplace, create a logo and brand to market and protect the invention, and prepare a 5-minute pitch to sell the innovation to a very wealthy venture capitalist (with lots of money) from the Silicon Valley area who wants to solve this problem but wants to make sure that there is a return of this company's investment. He has to report out to his Board of Trustees on Wednesday and give recommendations to the head of the CDC in preparation for an announcement by the President of the United States to the American people on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 9:00pm EDT.

Expectations for Wednesday's Final Presentation

Global Challenge Areas of Opportunity:
  1. Clinical Diagnostic
  2. Tracking Systems
